As of the 2000 Census, Cocoa had 6,939 occupied housing units - 4,038 (58.20 percent) owner occupied and 2,901 (41.80 percent) renter occupied. Five point eight zero percent (5.80%) of the households did not have telephone service and 12.40 percent of the households did not have access to a car, truck, or van for private use.
